Marilyn Sahs is an award winning artist, whose work can best be described as eclectic. Sometimes playful, sometimes erotic, often complex, she has a tendency towards utilizing non-traditional media such as wood, bed linen, dyes, glues, wax, and even food condiments, yet is just as comfortable with more traditional media forms and styles.
Born in the Southwest, Marilyn spent her formative years growing up in Cuxhaven, Germany, where she developed a deep appreciation for art, nature, and traditional cultures. Marilyn attended the University of Texas at El Paso, completing her artistic studies with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, emphasis on painting. Marilyn served as artist in residence at the Historic Santa Fe Foundations James L. Johnson house on Canyon Road in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
