Growing up in and around Madrid, New Mexico and going to Santa Fe School for the Arts & Sciences, a school where all art forms are encouraged, Alicia has developed a deep love for art. Since the age of two, she’s enjoyed making artwork inspired by her dreams and vivid imagination, and has always had the dream to one day become an artist.
Now, at age thirteen, Alicia has won numerous art-related honors and awards, including having her art featured on the back of the Santa Fe City bus and winning 1st place in the state of New Mexico in the Lion’s Club International Peace Poster Contest, as well as winning several other contests and awards.
She has now taken her art beyond the “little kid” level and is inspired by more of the darker side of life, but in an unusually beautiful way (the lie behind every “I love you,” the real story behind every fairytale, etc.) In many of her paintings she includes a glowing heart, but in each painting, that heart represents something different, and each piece tells a story. Alicia has several influences, including Mark Ryden and Michael Hussar, and is inspired by them to continue telling stories through her artwork.
